UNIQA was a partner of the Hut Hop Race

UNIQA Bulgaria was a partner of the Hut Hop Race - a running/walking race, the first edition of which was held this November with a start and finish in front of the September hut.

The main organizers of the event were Kiril Nikolov "Dizela", Dimitar Zhelyazkov and September hut, and the general sponsor was UNIQA, which, in addition to overall support of the event, provided the prize fund, medals, and gifts for all finishers.

Hut Hop Race was held within Vitosha Nature Park and included 39 sites in the park – huts, shelters, rest stations and other tourist sites, as well as Cherni Vrah. The competition involved 80 teams of two people each (160 people in total), with 30 teams competing in the Runners discipline and 50 in the Pedestrians discipline.

Colleagues from UNIQA and UNIQA Software Services also participated in the competition.

After registering and receiving the starter pack, the teams had half an hour to build their strategy – which lodges to visit in which order to collect maximum points. The participants had a limited time of 4 hours to go around the freely chosen route. In Runners, teams were ranked in two categories: Men's/Mixed Pairs and Women's.

The Pedestrians discipline made it possible to include a wider range of competitors - people who love adventure but prefer a more relaxed way of moving. This allowed the inclusion of families with young and older children.

The participants enjoyed the beauty of the autumn mountain, and shared emotional and unifying moments. Through the initiative, the active lifestyle, the pleasure of movement, and the easy access to nature were encouraged - this is a huge advantage for the residents of Sofia and the guests of Sofia.
