Terms and Conditions of UNIQA Insurance Plc and UNIQA Life Insurance Plc for Access and Use of the Customer Portal via www.uniqa.bg

General provisions
These Terms and Conditions of Access and Use of the Client Portal (hereinafter referred to as "the Portal") govern the relationship between UNIQA Insurance Plc and/or UNIQA Life Insurance Plc (hereinafter referred to as "UNIQA" or "the Insurer") and users of insurance services ("Client," "User") in connection with and in relation to access to the Portal and/or use of services and content.

UNIQA Insurance Plc is an insurance joint-stock company with a registered office and registered address located at 1000 Sofia, 18 Todor Alexandrov Blvd., registered in the Commercial Register at the Registry Agency under UIC 040451865 and performing insurance activity on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria in accordance with Permit No. 40 of 10.08.1998 of the Financial Supervision Commission.

UNIQA Life Insurance Plc is an insurance joint-stock company with its registered office and registered address located at 1000 Sofia, 18 Todor Alexandrov Blvd., registered in the Commercial Register at the Registry Agency under UIC 831626729 and performing insurance activity on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria pursuant to Permit No. 27 of 10.08.1998 of the Financial Supervision Commission.

A user of insurance services is an individual or legal entity who, through functionality provided on www.uniqa.bg declares his/her willingness to contract insurance remotely and/or pay the due insurance premium. A user of insurance services is also a person for whom rights under an insurance contract have arisen, as well as an individual or legal entity interested in taking advantage of the services provided by the Insurer in relation to its subject of activity.

By placing a check mark against the text, "I agree to the Terms and Conditions of UNIQA Insurance Plc and UNIQA Life Insurance Plc for access to and use of the Client Portal via www.uniqa.bg" on the UNIQA’s website, the Client declares that he/she has read this document and, therefore, he/she accepts the Terms and Conditions in full.

By registering on the Portal, the Customer agrees and undertakes to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Only Customers who have completed a valid registration on the Customer Portal may use the services provided through the Customer Portal.

Registration in the Customer Portal is entirely free of charge and does not require any additional fee.

The content of the Customer Portal is the intellectual property of UNIQA unless otherwise stated. Any copying, distribution, and/or other legal and factual actions concerning the Portal content without the Insurer’s consent is a violation of the Copyright and Related Rights Act and other applicable regulations and is subject to appropriate penalties.

Terminology and services
Customer Portal ("the Portal") – the UNIQA's internet portal, available at www.uniqa.bg.
Portal Service – any service provided by UNIQA to users of insurance services through the Customer Portal.
Users of insurance services within the meaning of these Terms and Conditions can be divided into two categories:

  • Registered – users who register on UNIQA's website to access and use the Client Portal and access it using a username and password.
  • Unregistered – users who do not register on the UNIQA’s website.

Username – a selected unique combination of letters, numbers, or letters and numbers by which the user of insurance services is individualized on the Website.
Password – a selected unique combination of letters and/or numbers that, together with the username, individualizes the user of insurance services.
Website – the distinct location on the World Wide Web accessible via its Uniform Resource Locator (URL) using HTTP or HTTPS protocol and containing files, programs, text, sound, pictures, images, electronic links, or other materials and resources.
Virtual POS Terminal – a method of accepting direct debit and/or credit card payments over the Internet through a Web site without the physical presence of the card. Bank card transactions are conducted in accordance with MasterCard and VISA security programs, respectively named "MasterCard SecureCode" and "Verified by VISA."
Portal Content – any information, images, materials, games, and the like available on the Portal and through the Services via the Portal.

Accessing and activating the Services through the Portal
The Portal can be accessed at www.uniqa.bg.
To create a user profile and successfully register in the Customer Portal, the Customer must enter personal information and information about his/her active contract number with the Insure.
It is not possible to make a second registration with the same email or active policy number.
Upon successful registration, the Customer will receive a registration confirmation email.

Services and reference information available after registration in the Client Portal
  • Detailed information on every insurance policy contracted since 2003 - policy number, type of insurance, status, upcoming maturities, installments paid, etc.
  • Detailed information on claims filed - claim number, status, documents required, benefits paid, etc.
  • Payment of insurance premium.
  • Receipt of notifications.
  • Information about current offers and promotions.
  • Other services.

Rights and obligations of the Insurer
UNIQA undertakes to provide a receipt for each bank card transaction made through the Customer Portal.
UNIQA shall not be held liable for incorrect or dishonest data entered by the User.
UNIQA shall not be held liable for any errors made during payment due to incorrect data entered by the Customer.
UNIQA reserves the right to unilaterally change these Terms and Conditions, and the structure of the Customer Portal, being obliged to notify the User thereof.
UNIQA undertakes to protect the confidentiality of correspondence, and not disclose the created user names, passwords, and other personal information provided by the persons without their prior consent unless this is required by the statutory provision.
UNIQA shall be entitled to provide relevant information about the Customer upon a duly made request of a competent authority.
UNIQA shall be entitled to block the access of the user of insurance services at any time in the following cases:

  • The User disseminates, through the use of the Portal, messages with advertising, commercial, obscene, offensive, defamatory, and/or threatening texts and/or images.
  • The User, by his/her actions, damages the reputation of the Insurer and/or third parties, violates the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, international acts, or endangers the operability of the software and technical means through which the services are provided.
  • It is established that a third party has illegally gained access to the Portal by means of the User's password and username, and/or the third party has illegally used registration data.

Rights and obligations of the user of insurance services
The Customer is responsible for all his/her actions in the Portal after entering the Login Details.
The Customer must submit correct information about his/her personal data about creating a user profile in the Portal.
The Customer may not provide his/her username and password to any third party.
The Customer may not register on the Customer Portal, request additional services on behalf of others, or use personal data that is not his/her own.
The Customer must not use stolen or counterfeit debit or credit cards and, if he/she uses such a card, bear criminal liability for his action.
Each Customer has the right to express their personal opinion or ask questions by sending a private message to an administrator in the "Ask Now" section or emailing customer.support@uniqa.bg.

Personal data collection and processing
UNIQA guarantees the privacy of the personal data of its Customers. The disclosure of personal data and their provision to third parties is only possible in accordance with the requirements of the Insurance Code and other applicable regulations, and in cases where this is expressly requested by state and regulatory authorities, the Guarantee Fund, reinsurance companies, and other persons authorized by law to request and collect information containing personal data, and where the person to whom it relates has given their consent thereof.
By accepting these Terms and Conditions, the User consents to processing the personal data provided by him/her for direct marketing purposes. The User has the right to refuse the processing of his/her personal data for direct marketing purposes by expressing his/her request in writing.
UNIQA Insurance Plc is registered as a personal data controller with identification number 0000123 as of 04.11.2008.
UNIQA Life Insurance Plc is registered as a personal data controller with identification number 0053553 as of 04.03.2009.


Others 
The Customer agrees that these Terms and Conditions apply solely to the access and use of the Customer Portal at www.uniqa.bg.
The provisions of the current legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria shall apply to any matters not covered by these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions of UNIQA Insurance Plc and UNIQA Life Insurance Plc for access and use of the Client Portal were adopted by resolution of the Board of Directors on 27.06.2017 and have been effective since the same date.
