For 2022, UNIQA Bulgaria aims to neutralize emissions from 2 million km of vehicles registered in Bulgaria

Every UNIQA Bulgaria customer with CASCO insurance contracted will contribute to planting one new tree. In 2022, UNIQA commits to planting thousands of young saplings in partnership with Gorata.bg. The Foundation has planted over 1.7 million trees on 3 million square meters so far, and over 200,000 people have participated in their initiatives.

Customers who have CASCO Insurance contracted with UNIQA will receive car care, which additionally includes: access to digital services such as self-inspection, filing a claim entirely online; damage inspection at the insurer's trusted service center; replacement car if needed; mobile tire service and more. With this complete solution for the private car, every user saves time and contributes to reducing the CO2 emissions. Premium payment is also convenient through all channels: online via the UNIQA website, EasyPay, etc.

According to the European Environment Agency, the average European emits more than 8 tonnes of carbon dioxide per year due to their lifestyle (transport, food, clothing, etc.). Passenger cars account for the largest share of CO2 emissions compared to any other mode of transportation (light and heavy goods vehicles, rail, river, sea, air), as their share is over 60% of CO2 emissions generated by all types of land transport.

UNIQA Bulgaria is the first insurer in Bulgaria to launch a campaign in support of forests in Bulgaria, in partnership with Gorata.bg, and focuses on reducing the carbon footprint caused by private cars.

Green UNIQA is a long-term initiative of UNIQA Bulgaria to reduce the carbon footprint. Among the measures UNIQA Bulgaria has already taken are digitalization of key processes in the company, switching to digital services to support the customer (remote submission of notification in case of damage; policy payment; damage check; self-shot in case of damage; opportunity of medical consultation entirely online and book an appointment with a selected doctor), digital signing of documents, minimization of the use of printed materials, option for working from home for the team, thus avoiding the daily use of transport, etc.
