Episode 2: My best friend - Digitalisation

 

In a famous ad someone says „I want everything“, and we also want everything. Planting trees and cleaning neighbourhoods is not enough for us … We want more, we want to change our style of work. In this difficult task we needed a partner for the cause, and just like Batman has his partner Robin, we found ours – Digitalisation. With its help we managed to optimise the liquidation process and digitalise a number of insurance activities, we managed to organise an office without frontiers and so on. 😊 We reduced Print and increased Save as, Send and Reply to all… We saved paper – we saved a tree, we saved a courier – we reduced fuel consumption, we also saved free time for us (it is not green, but it is extremely valuable).

 

In 2020 relative to 2018 we saved 1 420 000 sheets of paper which is equivalent to over 150 saved trees (and again, the formula 1 tree per season is equal to oxygen for 10 people per year).

 

Here is part of the secret ingredients of the successful green recipe.
We have an online service for performing inspections for conclusion of Casco insurance, the process being entirely digital and paperless, as well as in liquidation for property – paperless. We offer the possibility of self-inspection of damages, as well as of payment against invoice copies. 50% of our damages pass over to self-inspection. 😊

 

Thus, we save both paper, and fuel for us and for the customers (the couriers may not like it, but that’s life – GREEN 😊)

 

The colleagues from liquidation for life insurance and health insurance also have something to boast about. As early as 2019, they optimised the flow of outgoing documents, eliminating printing and affixing physical signatures on documents, such as payment decisions and orders and switched over to electronic format (it was super to stand by the printer and talk with your colleague while waiting for those thousands of sheets to be printed, but the team already got used to not wait in line before the printer 😊). In 2020, with the elimination of printed documents for claims, around 80 000 sheets were saved, and in 2021, more 120 000 (over 20 saved trees).

 

In 2020, the team of liquidation for life insurance and health insurance also modified the process of customer notification, and for about 70% of the claims, the outgoing correspondence on paper medium was dropped in favour of the electronic variant. The same year also witnessed a change in the process of receiving documents from customers, around 60% of the claims being submitted via our website. Thus, our customers do not have to fill in a claim form on paper and send the documents on paper medium.

 

With the changes in liquidation, of course, besides the paper consumption, the expenses for transportation and storage of documents also went down, that, in turn, results in less fuel spent and more clean air for us. Additional bonus is the reduction in the quantity of consumables for the printers (we may start retiring some of them).
Of course, our customers have the option of concluding online insurance policies, receiving from us via e-mail the insurance policy, the general conditions, the receipt, the information document or a total of 15 pages.

 

In every great history there is a supporting hero with great contribution. In our history that is Digitalisation.
